There are three physical pieces: a dish aimed accurately and mounted so it stays that way, a cable run from it to wherever the TV lives, and a decoder connected and scanned. Each one is simple on its own; the reliability comes from not cutting a corner on any of them. An accurate aim with a loose bracket is a fault waiting for the first windy afternoon.

If there is any chance of a second TV later, it is worth saying so on the day. Fitting an LNB with a spare output at installation costs very little; going back to change one afterwards means a second visit for something that took ten minutes the first time.

The same goes for the cable route. If we know a bedroom or a flatlet might want a point one day, we choose a route that can take a second line without opening up the same wall twice.
